Kokumin Nenkin
National Pension Scheme (Kokumin Nenkin) is a system whereby all the people living in Japan receive a lifelong ‘basic pension’ (kiso nenkin). It provides income security not only in old age but also in the event of death (survivors’ basic pension) or disabilities caused by disease or injury (disability basic pension).
Because the Japanese government bears responsibility for running National Pension Scheme, the payment is guaranteed if a person pays premiuns properly
