How to Dispose of Garbage
In Sanda City, garbage is separately collected using designated bags.
■Bags for burnable garbage: half-transparent white bags
■Bags for unburnable garbage: transparent bags
■Bags for PET bottles: transparent bags
  • Designated garbage bags (shitei gomibukuro) are available at convenience stores and supermarkets in Sanda City. Designated garbage bags contribute to protection of the facilities and safe operation. Thus, we appreciate your cooperation.
  • Garbage must to be disposed of at designated regional garbage stations (Gomi Station).
Burnable garbage
(twice a week)

Kitchen waste, expanded polystyrene, waste paper, plastic, leather, rubber, cassette tapes, video tapes, etc.
Unburnable Garbage
(twice a month)
Unburnable Garbage
Empty cans, pottery, batteries (not button batteries or nickel cadmium batteries), light bulbs, fluorescent tube lights, small electric appliances that fit into the designated garbage bag, plate glass, glass dishes, cosmetic bottles, etc.
  • Glass bottles are not considered as unburnable garbage. Make sure you use up the content in spray cans and butane gas cartridges and degas.

PET bottles for beverages, alcohol, seasonings etc. (bottles that have recycling marks)
(1) Remove caps.
(2) Remove foreign objects if there are any.
(3) Rinse the inside thoroughly and dry up the bottle.
(4) Stomp the bottles flat.
Glass Bottles
(once a month)
Glass Bottles
(1) Sort bottles by the color; clear, brown, and other colors.
(2) Remove caps.
(3) Remove contents, and rinse bottles with water.
(4) Place in the specified containers.
  • Do not put items other than glass bottles in the containers.

Large items (any item that does not fit into the designated garbage collection bag, such as furniture and electrical appliances) will be collected directly from your home by the staff.
The service is available either in the morning or in the afternoon on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (except holidays and Year-end through New Year holidays). Please call the Clean Center no later than the day before (by 15:00) that you wish the waste is to be collected.
  • Items that cannot be collected or disposed of by the city collection service cannot be accepted.
Carried-in Waste Bulky waste may be brought directly to the Clean Center. (You will be charged 90 yen for every 10kg of the waste.)

  • Hours must be strictly observed.
Items Not Accepted (items that cannot be collected or disposed of by the city collection service) Personal computer, air conditioner, television set (Braun tube), refrigerator, freezer, washing machine, compressed gas cylinder / fire extinguisher / waste oil / pesticide / dangerous drug / tire / car battery / earth and sand / building rubble (such as concrete blocks and bricks) / household medical waste / other industrial waste, etc.
Please make sure you will bring your garbage by 8:00 in the morning on the garbage collection day.
